Imagine building systems that think in microseconds — algorithms that move millions with absolute precision.
We’re engineers driven by performance, reliability, and meaningful innovation in the crypto trading space. Our team — experienced builders from Amazon, and Google, with academic backgrounds from Berkeley, Caltech, ETH, and MIT — is developing a next-generation trading platform that executes orders seamlessly across 10+ exchanges and dozens of tokens.
Here, every line of code matters. Push your work to production, and within minutes it could be driving thousands of trades per hour. It’s fast, impactful, and never dull — the kind of engineering challenge that keeps you sharp and inspired.
You’ll be joining a newly formed engineering team in Prague, dedicated to building Wincent’s presence in the European power markets. It’s a small, entrepreneurial group where every engineer plays a key role in shaping systems and direction from day one. The team combines hands-on builders and market experts, working closely with a Prague-based team lead, a trader, and upcoming front-office hires — all backed by the strength and resources of Wincent’s established DevOps and data platform teams across the company.
Data integration for European power markets: Create and maintain pipelines that gather data from exchanges like EEX, EPEX, and Nord Pool, as well as TSO and other market sources.
Trading connectivity & automation: Build the first versions of market connectors, trading workflows, and scheduling tools, using internal systems where possible.
Strategy execution systems: Turn models and trading ideas into stable production systems across day-ahead, intraday, and imbalance markets.
Engineering for reliability: Focus on clean architecture, robust data handling, and fault tolerance — not ultra-low latency. Ship fast, ship safely.
Regulatory readiness: Make sure systems meet REMIT standards and prepare for MiFID compliance — no prior experience needed.
Continuous improvement: Help define and refine engineering best practices, observability, and deployment standards across trading and data systems.
Senior engineering experience (5+years)— You’ve built and owned production systems end-to-end. What matters most to us is depth, sound judgment, and real impact, not just years on paper.
Strong technical foundation — You understand data modeling, pipelines, and backend systems. You can spot failure points early and make smart, pragmatic trade-offs when designing for scale and reliability.
Builder mindset — You thrive in greenfield environments, move fast without losing quality, and don’t get bogged down in unnecessary process.
Clear communicator — You express ideas simply, challenge assumptions respectfully, and adapt quickly when a better approach surfaces.
Bonus points — Experience with energy or commodity trading, market connectivity, or scheduling. Familiarity with EEX, EPEX, Nord Pool, or TSO data is a plus, not a requirement.

The internship lasts for 7 weeks. It begins in June and runs through the end of August, taking place fully on-site at our offices. This timeline is designed to give you enough time to work on meaningful projects while still fitting into a summer break.
Our interview process is designed to test your problem-solving ability rather than prior experience in trading. We focus on probability, statistics, logical reasoning, and intuition, as well as your ability to think under uncertainty.
The process begins with an online assessment. Successful candidates are then invited to two technical rounds covering probability and statistics. The final stage is an on-site session in Bratislava, where you’ll participate in interactive betting games that simulate real decision-making scenarios.
For a detailed breakdown, please check our interview process.
The process typically involves four stages: an online assessment (with a two-week deadline), two technical interviews, and a final on-site round. After you submit your assessment, we schedule interviews as soon as possible based on interviewer availability.
From initial application to final decision, the timeline can vary, but in most cases it takes about one to three weeks. For exceptional candidates who progress quickly and have good scheduling availability, the entire process can sometimes be completed in as little as 10 days.
